"I don’t have family or anyone here who is helping me financially, except the university. To get this (grant) when I was sick and trying to get by—wow, it changed my life deeply. I’m grateful, and I’m proud of everything my school is doing to help people."

"I am a graduate international student. This is my 5th month in America, and I just concluded my first semester as a University of Baltimore student. Since the global outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, I have not been able to settle the rent at the shared apartment where I currently occupy a room. I have lost 2 siblings to the virus after my family spent a lot to get them medical attention back home in Nigeria. My family has been forced to stay home and they currently have no source of income or sufficient resources to assist me. I have been forced to ration my limited food eating just once daily (bread, noodles or spaghetti). I am grateful UB has provided a platform to help students with financial issues during this period, and I will appreciate any assistance to enable me to settle my bills and have better nutrition."
